Past Announcements Editor search: Journal of Oncology Practice ASCO is seeking candidates for the position of Editor-in-Chief for Journal of Oncology Practice. JOP includes articles on quality of care, practice organization and management, health services, legislative and legal issues, and business-related concerns for practicing oncologists. The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for oversight of six issues of approximately 58 editorial pages each. Candidates must be ASCO members. The Editor-in-Chief’s five-year term will begin in September 2008. Members of the Clinical Practice Committee and the Publications Committee will recommend a candidate for approval by the ASCO President and Board of Directors. By May 23, 2008, interested candidates should submit a curriculum vitae and letter of interest that includes a brief statement of their vision for JOP. JOP articles older than one year will now be freely available to the public at large under JOP’s delayed open-access policy. This policy guarantees free access to archival JOP articles in keeping with the Washington D.C. Principles for Free Access to Science, of which ASCO is a signatory. A subscription to JOP is still needed for access to articles less than one-year old. All current ASCO members qualify for free access to JOP online. See the easy activation instructions in the following announcement.
As of April 2, 2007, the free access period to Journal of Oncology Practice (JOP) has ended. Beginning on April 2, all visitors will now be prompted for a username and password to access JOP. Here’s what you do: ASCO Members: 1) ASCO members who have already activated their Journal of Clinical Oncology (JCO) personal subscription online at www.jco.org will simply enter their current JCO username and password to also access JOP online. If you have forgotten your JCO username or password please visit www.ascopubs.org/cgi/recnamepwd to have your current username and a new password emailed to the address we currently have on file. 2) ASCO members who have yet to activate their JCO personal subscription online will simply use their current ASCO member number as both username and password to access JOP. 3) Active-Allied, Affiliate, and Associate members who have not subscribed to JCO will continue to have full access to JOP online and can login using their current ASCO member ID number for both the username and password. You may find your 5-digit customer number or account number in the upper left hand corner of your JOP mailing label.
